AP is a nationally recognized College Board program in which students can earn college credits while in high school. AP courses can help students acquire the skills and habits needed to be successful in college such as improved writing skills; problem-solving abilities; time management skills, self-discipline; and study habits.



The fine and performing arts program includes courses in dance, debate, drama, guitar, instrumental music, keyboarding, music theory, speech, and vocal music. Students have the opportunity to take AP courses in Music Theory, Art History, Studio Art: 2-D Design, Studio Art: 3-D Design, and Studio Art: Drawing. The fine arts program provides courses in drawing, ceramics, painting, fabrics and fibers, and sculpture. Students can participate in any of the choirs, marching band, jazz band, Pantherette Dance Team, and Thespian Troupe.



CTE at Pine Ridge High School includes 14 career preparation programs which can qualify students for the Bright Futures Scholarship and can earn them industry certifications. CTE offers programs in the agriscience, business, information technology, hospitality and tourism, human services, engineering and technology, and marketing. Students can participate in work-based learning opportunities such as job shadowing or on-the-job training.


AVID is an internationally-recognized, college preparatory program designed to support students in the academic middle for success in advanced high school academics and to increase eligibility and enrollment opportunities in four-year colleges. The program mission is “to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society”. AVID enables students in grades 9 through 12 to succeed in rigorous high school curricula; to enter mainstream activities in school; and to develop a foundation for future college success. As a methodology for accelerating student progress, AVID features a rigorous academic elective course with a sequential curriculum that focuses on writing, inquiry, collaboration, and reading. Students also have access to tutorials during school hours.



The AICE program is an international pre-university curriculum and examination system for academically able students. AICE is internationally recognized as a university-level qualification and is committed to a flexible curriculum with global acceptance while maintaining academic rigor that is a keystone of Cambridge.

The AICE program of study offers students one of the most demanding and rigorous college preparatory programs in the world. An AICE Diploma is awarded on the basis of examination scores and course work performance during six full-credit courses. By requiring students take a minimum of six full-credit courses with at least one course chosen from each of the three subject areas (Language, Mathematics & Science and Arts & Humanities), the AICE Diploma ensures that all students follow a broad and balanced academic program.



The Mission of the Air Force JROTC is to “develop citizens of character, dedicated to serving nation and community”. Students are encouraged to be involved in the community through extracurricular and social activities. Different themes include: Frontiers in Aviation History; The Science of Flight; Astronomy; and Exploration of Space. Program goals are to instill values of

citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility, and sense of accomplishment to cadets.
